ImpAct
Theatre
2011 Spring Tour
Highly acclaimed and award winning ImpAct Theatre , well known for presenting
some of the most professional amateur drama in the local area, will embark on
its 2011 Spring Tour on Saturday 12 March
when its production of ‘The Beauty Queen of Leenane’ written by
Martin McDonagh opens at West Moors Memorial Hall.
This deliciously dark tragic-comedy takes place in a dismal cottage in the
backwaters of Connemara, where a mother and daughter exist in a state of
permanent combat and in a seriously dysfunctional relationship, laced with
moments of outrageous humour, and where emotions spiral dangerously out of
control……..
This play that is disturbingly moving, entertaining and funny with brilliantly
sustained tension was written in 1996 by Irish playwright Martin McDonagh and
was recently revived by the
Young
Vic
Theatre
in
London
.
This production is in the capable hands of highly respected director Patricia
Richardson who was also responsible for directing last year’s critically
acclaimed tour production of The York Realist.
It will subsequently play on March 15 at
Broadstone War Memorial Hall, March 17 at The Hub - Verwood, March 18 at
Durweston Village Hall and the following evening March 19 at Lytchett Matravers
