UPDATE:- NOTE THAT IN DECEMBER 2011 CLUB 31 CEASED TRADING.

February 2010 update - The Verwood Royal British Legion Branch loses its home.

Club 31has now ceased trading

17 Moorlands Road
Verwood
dorset
BH31 7PD

Club31 have now taken over the Old British Legion Club Premises and is completely independent. The Verwood Branch of the Royal British Legion will still exist and may still meet in the new club but will have nothing to do with the running of the Community Club. Please note that most Verwood RBL Memorabilia and the "Book of Rememberance" will transfer to the Town Hall.

Although it is likely that it will be given a different name in the fulness of time. The Old British Legion club complete with all its fixtures and fittings,is in the process of being bought by a Cambridge developer and once the deal is finally agreed by the RBL (which should be this week). it will be run as a separate company limited by guarantee so that all profits will be ploughed back into the club. Mr Giddings stated that until the details are finally agreed the following are the salient points.

The Club will have a 25 year lease.

The Club will be a separate company limited by guarantee.

It will be probably be given a new name in the fulness of time.

As a Community Club it is open to all.

It will be run purely as a Verwood Community Club. (It is NOT an RBL Club)

The local Verwood RBL may meet or have events there but will no longer have any association with the running of the club.

A Club membership will be required. (RBL membership no longer applies)

Membership is open to ALL those of 18 and over.

The membership fee is expected to be around £10 to £12 per year.

Opening will be every day from 11 a.m. till at least 11 p.m.

It is expected that all the existing facilities will still be available.

Ringwood Brewery / Marstons will be the main suppliers.

Please note that most Verwood RBL Memorabilia and the "Book of Rememberance" will transfer to the Town Hall which will have its own flagpole.
